Bioethical implications of biometrics has been till now under investigated. By focusing on this issue the BITE project promises to efficaciously contribute to develop EU current standards. BITE will promote coordination and strengthen synergies between diverse national approaches. This will be achieved by creating a forum for focussed, multi-disciplinary discussion, to ensure that national approaches are understood, to identify commonality between approaches, to identify best practice, and to formulate policy options. The multi-disciplinary approach (law, ethics, social sciences, info-technology) is needed to ensure that all recommendations are realistic and pragmatic solutions. |
