The Centre for Science, Society and Citizenship is an independent, interdisciplinary research centre which was established in 2002. The CSSC’s mission is to attempt to clarify the human (social, cultural and ethical) factors which shape technological innovation. The special feature of the Centre is the interdisciplinary nature of its work. The CSSC places special emphasis on the need to compare data coming from psychology, sociology, anthropology and philosophy with empirical data obtained through participatory methods, such as Delphi processes, citizens’ jury, consensus conferences, focus groups, surveys, e-debates and e-fora.

Prof. Emilio Mordini is director of the CSSC. Emilio is a psychoanalyst and teaches bioethics at the Rome University La Sapienza. He is the BITE scientific coordinator.
You can reach Emilio at e.mordini@bioethis.it
